Tickets for the Curtain Call Showcase may be purchased in advance at the time of registration, or during Check-in, or at the door — if space allows. Tickets are $10 each. All Registrants watch for free.
Junior - 8 to 12 years (1 - 3 years of training)
Intermediate - 12 to 14 years (3+ years of training, skilled in picking up material quickly, and technically proficient)
Senior - 14 years and up (6 + years of training with strong technique, quick pick up skills. Able to do a triple pirouette, and advanced moves applicable to their style of dance.)
Hip Hop is what you see on MTV and on TV shows such as America's Best Dance Crew. Popular music like P. Diddy, Janet, Usher, and Jay Z are examples of what is danced to. There are different styles of hip hop such as House, Chill, Street, Popping, Locking, Breakin', and Old Style.
Jazz Dance focuses on jazz technique and stylized choreography. It's athletic, fast paced, and high energy.
Broadway Choreography is based in musical theater, although no singing is expected in class. Shows such as In The Heights, WIcked, and Hairspray are examples of high profile shows.
Tap is a discipline where rhythms are created by intricate movements of the feet. Fun and loud!
Contemporary has become the most popular style of dancing thanks to So You Think You Can Dance. It is a combination of jazz, lyrical and modern.
Glee is exactly what you see on the hit tv show GLEE! Popular songs are learned and put on their feet.
Audition Technique is taught by a NY casting director and gives students insight into the world of Broadway, TV, and film.
